Purchasing Team Leader

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the local purchasing team by fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Oversee and drive strategic category management and project-based purchasing, while ensuring coordination and synergy with purchasing teams in the Netherlands and Germany.

  • Take responsibility for your own categories, lead negotiations with suppliers, and develop long-term partnerships with suppliers in Southeast Asia and Europe.

  • Harmonize procurement strategies, supplier portfolios, contractual frameworks, and procurement processes across the group, in collaboration with the Procurement Director.

  • Monitor trends in the stainless steel market, raw material developments, logistical constraints, and supply risks.

  • Support the Group’s initiatives in digitalization, standardization, and continuous improvement of procurement

Your profile

  • You hold a university degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, engineering, or a related field, or you have equivalent experience.

  • You have at least 7 years of experience in strategic procurement, category management, or supply chain management.

  • You have proven expertise in developing supplier strategies and cross-functional collaboration on an international scale.

  • Solid experience in project-based procurement, ideally in the steel, metals, or industrial trading sectors, or in project-oriented environments, is a plus.

  • Your proven leadership experience, including responsibilities in team development and performance management, enables you to foster and develop collaboration

  • Knowledge of Slim 4 software would be a plus.

  • You have a structured and analytical mindset, and you enjoy taking on responsibilities and contributing your ideas.

  • Fluency in English is required; any other language is a plus.
